It's almost that special time of the year, when the leaves change color and the Fall Series begins. 

For over 20 years, the Dinghy Shop has hosted the Fall Series for Optimists, Lasers, and Sunfish and this year we're happy to add the O'Pen Bic to that line up. 

The Fall Series is for sailors of all skill levels, whether you're in your first season or sailing at national events. Green fleet Optimist sailor? We've got a coach boat out to help. First time Laser sailor? We've got the experts to help you rig your boat and get around the course.

Cedar Point YC - From Interstate 95 Northbound get off at Connecticut exit 16 in East Norwalk. Turn RIGHT off the exit ramp. At the third traffic light, turn LEFT onto Winfield Avenue (immediately after passing under the railroad tracks). Go approximately 1.1 miles and turn RIGHT onto Duck Pond Road.  Go 0.3 miles and turn LEFT onto Harbor Road.  Follow Harbor Road 0.7 miles to the end which is a tiny (very tiny) one-lane bridge onto an island.SUVs, Vans, Cars with trailers, Trucks, Buses: Do NOT go over the one lane bridge either entering or leaving the island! Instead, turn RIGHT just before the bridge onto Canal Road.  Go 0.25 miles to the end and turn LEFT onto Cockeone Drive.  Take your first LEFT onto Spriteview Avenue and then the first RIGHT onto Crossway.  This will take you to the Club.Cars without trailers Go over the bridge, bear to the left and continue to the stop sign, turn RIGHT on Sea Spray Road and then take the first LEFT turn onto Crossway.  This will take you to the Club. Centerport YC- LIE to Exit 51 North.  North on Deer Park Rd and just past the Northern State Parkway overpass, bear left at fork continuing on Deer Park Rd toward Greenlawn.  Follow Deer Park Rd which ends at Jericho Turnpike (route 25).  Cross over Jericho Tnpk  onto Park Av.  At first traffic light, turn right onto Broadway-Greenlawn and follow for several miles through Greenlawn village.  Cross over railroad tracks (road becomes Centerport Road) continue to Route 25A.  Cross over 25A, (E. I-95 N to exit 8B (City Island / Orchard Beach) onto Shore Road.  Follow Shore Road N about 1.5 miles.  Turn right onto City Island Road after the Hutchinson River Bridge.  Follow local directions below.

Local driving directions

City Island Road 1/2 mile E to a traffic circle.  Take the second right from the circle (continuing on City Island Road). After the City Island Bridge, bear right onto City Island Avenue, to the second traffic light (Sunoco station).  Turn right onto Ditmars Street and right again onto Hunter Avenue.  The Harlem Yacht Club is at the end of the street on the left (417 Hunter Avenue).

Hempstead Harbour Club - From Points West
Take the Long Island Expressway to Glen Cove Road North. You will exit the expressway onto the service road and make an immediate left onto Glen Cove Road northbound. Directions continue below.

From Points East

Take the Long Island Expressway or Northern State Parkway to the exit for Route 106/107 North. Route 106/107 splits. Continue on Route 107 (bears left). Route 107 merges into Glen Cove Road. Directions

Take Glen Cove Road north to the end where it dead ends at the Glen Cove Fire House. (Note: as you come into Glen Cove, the divided highway splits. Cedar Swamp Road goes to the right, Route 107 continues left. STAY LEFT and continue on Rt. 107.) Glen Cove Road turns into Route 107 and, at the end, becomes Pratt Blvd. It dead ends at the Glen Cove Firehouse. At the Firehouse make the first right then make a LEFT onto Herbhill Rd. Old Cove YC – From east or west follow the Main Road (Route. #25) into the center of Cutchogue. 
At the traffic light by the Capitol One Bank, turn south onto New Suffolk Avenue on corner. Drive about 3/4 mile past the Cutchogue Fire Station and the peach orchards. The 1st road on the left should be Old Harbor Road. Proceed very slowly to the end of the road. Sebago Canoe Club - BY CAR - Belt Parkway to exit 13 (Rockaway Parkway), follow Rockaway Parkway northwest (runs perpendicular to the Belt Parkway at this point) 1/2 mile, turn left on Avenue M, proceed on Avenue M until it ends at Paerdegat Avenue North, turn left onto Paerdegat Avenue North where the entrance to Sebago Canoe Club is on your right between the Diamond Point Yacht Club and the Paerdegat Athletic Club.

Shelter Island YC  From the North Fork:

Following the Long Island Expressway all the way to the end will bring you onto Rt. 58 in Riverhead. Rt. 58 turns into Rt. 25. Continue all the way to Greenport. In Greenport, notice signs for Shelter Island Ferry!

From the North Ferry to Shelter Island Yacht Club, follow 114 S off the ferry. Go straight the stop sign (do not follow 114). Go straight down Chequit Avenue, we are at the dead end.
From the South Ferry to the Shelter Island Yacht Club:

Follow 114 N across the Island. After you pass the Mobil Gas Station, you will cross a bridge. Follow the signs for 114N. When you start seeing the lines on the road for the North Ferry, look for the tennis courts on Clinton Avenue (they will be on your left). Turn right on Chequit Avenue. Westhampton YS- from the West - Using the Long Island Expressway (495) to Exit 68S (William Floyd Parkway) South onto Sunrise Highway heading east. Sunrise Highway (27) to Exit 61 (Eastport) follow Eastport signs. Make a right at stop sign onto Eastport Manor Rd. Continue Straight to second traffic light. Make a left (east) at light onto Montauk Hwy. (27A) Continue east past Speonk Lumber. (approx. 2.1 miles) Make a right turn onto Nidzyn Ave. (south). Make a left turn (east) at T onto South Country Rd. Make a right onto Speonk-Shore Rd. (south). Just short of the Bay make a right onto Yacht Club Drve.
